Selinum vaginatum or Bhootkeshi

This restorative plant is indigenous to India and found at high elevation in the Himalayan area. In Ayurveda, the rhizomatic roots and products of the plant are utilized for a therapeutic reason. The roots are secured by hair-like filaments and thus it is named as Bhutakeshi. The underlying foundations of Selinum vaginatum have hypotensive, pain-relieving and nervine narcotic activity. 
 
As the underlying foundations of Selinum vaginatum and Nardostachys jatamansi take after one another in outer morphological characters and trademark scent, accordingly commonly the underlying foundations of S. vaginatum are utilized as a substitute of Jatamansi (N. jatamansi rhizome). Studies propose both of the plants display unmistakable therapeutic properties.
